ABSTRACT
This seminar presentation is titled issue of women in development, the case of August meeting. A case study of Ozoubulu local government area of Anambra state. The aim of this work is to access the importance of August meeting to women in development chapter one of this work contains the background of the study, general objectives which is to find out how women have contributed in development using August women meeting in Igboland. It also contains the specific objectives which are; the role women play in development, the land mark of achievement of August meeting, how women use August meeting as a channel to support the community projects. Also the significance of the study, research questions, limitation and scope of the study. Chapter two has to do with the literature reviews, and evolution of the August meeting. Chapter three entails the research methodology and the population of the study with a sample size of 398 randomly selected. Data were collected and analyzed. Findings of the study were noted, recommendations were made. The conclusion was written down. Finally from this study it has been seen that “mothers summit” popularly known as “August women meeting’ is a very good channel for development of over communities.
