ABSTRACT
It was conceived through this research the objectives, functions and the problem face by the Central Bank of Nigeria in carrying out its stabilization role in the economy of Nigeria will be properly addressed.
he aim of the study is to investigate and ascertains how effectively the Central BANK OF Nigeria is carrying out heir stabilization role on the Nigeria economy through its various monetary and fiscal policies.
The researchers found out that monetary policy is a policy employed by C.B. N in controlling this supply of money as an instrument for achieving the objectives of general economy policies. In regulating the economic activities monetary policy falls on the control of the amount of money in circulation so as to reduce inflation.
In carrying out this research, it was discovered that the C.B.N was faced with some problems with range from flow and steady growth of the economy.
High and unstable interest rates, unstable and depressing among, unsustainable fiscal deficit profit near stagnation in the real sector to high rate of unemployment.
In order to overcome all these problems, the government should embark on a long term economic plans which cannot be intertained unfill it has been fully implemented, through it can be amended to suit the trend of the economy.
