ABSTRACT
This study is the role of computer in promoting efficiency in Nigeria commercial Banks with practical interest, was carried out with the following objectives.
(1) To ascertain if computer has a significant influence on the time spent by customers in their banking transactions.
(2) To find out if the computer has any effect in promoting efficiency in Nigeria commercial Bank Plc Enugu.
In order to achieve above objective, questionnaires were prepared and administered to publication comprising staff and customers of First Bank Plc within Enugu; in addition, extensive literature review was carried out.
Questionnaires collected were analyzed 24d using frequencies and percentages with the hypothesis, which are as follows:
That the five uses of computer have significantly improved banking transaction in the First Bank Plc.
The First Bank Plc would continue to advance in the use of computer, as its benefits cannot be overemphasized in terms of profitability and efficiency. It is researchers option that computerization of bank services will be a must in banking industry for improved performance and profitability.
