ABSTRACT
The aim of this review is to appraise the “Challenges of Banking Industry in a depressed Economy”
To accomplish the above objective this work looked into and investigated the challenges of Banking Industry.
A number of significant changes have occurred during the past several years to transfer the financial sector from what it was just a few short years ago.
Financial institutions today are offering new and eliverse services, operating under new and unique forms of management and technology and competing vigorously for the business of their customers in many few fronts.
The Nigerian Banking Industry in particular the Commercial Banks are usually accused of inefficiency in terms of poor quality, services, long waiting hours, stringent credit policy, unpleasant attitude of bank. Staff towards customers, frequent industrial crisis, low deposit interest rates just to mention a few.
Consequently, this formidable changes confronting banks is what the writer seeks to study and profer useful solutions.
In the bid to find solutions to these problems facing the banking industry, the writer has grouped this research work into three chapters as follows:
Chapter 1: which is the introductory part deals with the
background study of the topic and brief history of Union Bank Plc.
Chapter 2: Dwelt on the literature review
Chapter 3: Concluded the research work
Chapter 4: Summary of finding
Chapter 5: Recommendation
