ABSTRACT
This research intends to eroborate the services rendered by the capital market in Nigeria as to ascertain the adequacy and efficiency of these services to revamping the economy or otherwise to recommend appropriate measures to be taken in advancing the expectations of investors in particular and Nigeria as a whole.
In the conduct of this research we researcher employed the use of secondary empirical and personal observation were utilized.
Base on secondary data collected it was found that some of the services only exist in theory thereby providing answers to the research question and the short comings in the services of the s tock exchange market which includes, delays is most transactions and inadequate securities to trade in the market.
In view of these finding it was recommended among other things that the NSE should ensure on extensive advertising to create awareness for most of their services, employ more qualifies for most of their services, employ mo re qualified staff and to adhere strictly to the various ways in which it can be worked out by the NSE Board of trustees of hedge investors against the failure of its dealing members.
For the government to give incentives to the quoted companies in other to increase trading activities in the market. It is the belief of the market. It is the belief of the research that if and only the stock exchange market should strickly adhere to the recommendation made, there will be a remarkable improvement in their services and the last hope of its, ability to revamp the Nigeria economy will be restored.
