ABSTRACT
This research work is to look into the role of supervisory institutions on the performance of banks as a way to checkmate the irregularities in some financial institutions as well as look into their roles.
The need to establish a follow up mechanism to look into the performance of bank arose due to the polices plans and actions of government. The (C.BN) central bank of Nigeria the insurance company etc this can only be achieved through a transparent and a more accountable role (s) by these bodies.
This is because financial institutions are allowed to operate exclusively of these supervisory institutions the activities of banks would not be checkmated therefore it is very eminent of the supervisory bodies to come to play in the activities of financial institution in Nigeria.
