Evaluation Of Accounting Records Of Small Scale Business In Enugu

So many people have plunged into business without really having a sound knowledge of what a business should look like and what it takes to maintain a business.

  It is correct to say that many small scale business are springing up every day and everywhere in Nigeria, but the question is this, “HOW many actually survive”? Many business entrepreneurs start business which they can not even explain. The problem has been attributed to many factors. The points of accounting.

   The study dived into accounting system in small business in randomly selected enterprises in Enugu to find out actually whether these records exist, the problems encountered in keeping them and the effect they have on the entire business organization.

Questionnaires and personal interviews were used by the researcher in obtaining the necessary information.

 At the end of this research it was found that improper accounting contribute much to the failure of most business firms. Based on this findings, suggestion are made to the owners of these small scale businesses
