ABSTRACT
Small-scale industries in any nation are the bedrock of development mainly business grew out of small to medium and then large business.
The purpose of this project or study is to evaluate the extent to which bank have been financing small-scale industries in Nigeria. The term “small scale industries are those small business that fall within category of business with not more than five hundred thousand naria (N500,000) as their annual turnover.
In this project attempts are made to reviews the ways of regulating the activities of small-scale industries and the role of merchant and commercial banks in financing of small- scale industries in Nigeria, a case study of NAl merchant bank with reference to Enugu state.
The findings of the study will help to make recommendations and suggestions for future improvement of the present situations. Also with the findings of the study, the bank will become conscious of the particular problems facing the small scale industries and their growing importance to the Nigeria economy recovering and self –reliance.
