ABSTRACT
The purpose of this project was to study credit Analysis & loan management in commercial Bank with particular reference to Afrikbank Nigeria plc.
It was designed to determine what the look for before a loan is granted and how the loan, and its repayment are monitored and recovered, and the effect of bad debts on the banks financial position.
To achieve this purpose, data were collected by the administration of oral interview in addition, personal interviewed were held with some members of staff of Afrikbank as well as seminar papers and textbooks. The study revealed that even though the credit control policy of Afrikbank is satisfactory, there is room for important. The need for the services of credit management agencies was also highlighted in the study. It is suggested, that Afrikbank Nigeria plc should base the granting of credit on laid down polices.
The Bank monitor more closely the relationship between credit and liquidity to enable it continue in Business.
Finally qualified personal should be employed as credit officers for effective and efficient operation and credit control.
