ABSTRACT
THIS RESEARCH PROJECT IS A VERY CRUCIAL STUDY FOR THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC POWER AUTHORITY (NEPA). THE STUDY WAS MOTIVATED BY THE NECESSITY TO ESTABILISH THE CAUSES OF LOW PRODUCTIVITY BY PUBLIC SERVICE WORKERS, TO SOLVE THE RESEARCH PROBLEM, BOTH PRIMARY AND SECONDARY DATA WERE COLLECTED. THE RESEARCH INSTRUMENT USED IN COLLECTING THE DATA WERE QUESTIONNAIRES AND ORAL INTERVIEW. OTHER FORMS OF DATA COLLECTION WERE ALSO USED, SUCH AS PERSONAL OBSERVATION AND CONSULTATION OF RELEVANT TEXTS.
THE CONCLUSION OF THE STUDY REXEALED THAT FACTORS LIKE BREAKDOWN OF MACHINE AND EQUIPMENT, POOR MANAGEMENT, HIGH RATE OF LABOUR TURNOVER AND LACK OF PRODUCTION GOAL CAUSE LOW PRODUCTIVITY, BUT IF THE FACTORS ABOVE ARE REVERSED, THE PRODUCTIVITY LEVEL OF PUBLIC SERVICE WORKERS WILL BE VERY HIGH.
