ABSTRACT
The research continuing profession education: compliance of radiographers in south-east Nigeria is aimed at assessing the compliance of radiographers towards seminars, workshops, post-graduate education and conferences. It also assess factors that affects their compliance. A survey research was used with a well structured questionnaire which is distributed to cover post NYSC practicing radiographers in south-east Nigeria. 62 sample size was obtained from a total number of 73 post NYSC radiographers using Yamane yaro method. The research shows that there is an increase level of compliance of radiographers towards CPD activities and low level of compliance towards post-graduate education. The research also found out some of the factors that inhibit compliance of radiographers to continuing professional education. Some of the factors include improper security measures and time constraint. The research also shows that factors like broaden of knowledge, improve of personal skill and competence promotes compliance of radiographers to continuing professional education. The researcher also recommended that, with proper security measures, and introduction of online courses in post- graduate education will help to improve the compliance of radiographers to continuing professional educations.

INTRODUCTION
Continuing professional education refers to any time of post secondary education used to either obtain additional certificate or as credit required to maintain a license1. Almost anybody can take continuing professional education courses for personal or professional enrichment and this type of education is aimed exclusively at adults who already possess a college or university degree.
Generally continuing professional education is similar to adult education, or at least is being intended for adult learners especially those beyond college or university level. However, it is not normally considered to include basic instruction such as literacy, English language skills or programs such as vocational training. Instead, as the term suggests, it is assumed that the student already has an education and is simply continuing it2.
People take continuing professional education in the form of workshops, seminars, home study or online courses and conferences. There is no specific format or length for this type of program, some may take a weekend while others can span for weeks or even months3.
Continuing professional education is an all encompassing term within a broad spectrum of post secondary learning activities and programmed4. Continuing professional education benefits individuals, communities and the country’s economy in that, it provides individuals with the knowledge, skills, values, attitudes and understanding they will need in life as individuals, citizen and workers it makes community more productive and innovative as workers create and discover new abilities and ideas and it equally strengthens the economy. 5
Continuing professional education has helped the medical personnel to improve practice professionally as it helps to seek other ways the patients are managed efficiently and effectively in the hospital6. Continuing professional education among radiographers in south east Nigeria need to be re-asses and this study is to ascertain the compliance of radiographers to continuing professional education and the factors that affect it.
